HKUST Guangzhou Science and Technology Innovation Committee and the Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation Institute of South China Sea Ecological Environment Engineering signed a cooperation agreement in Hong Kong to jointly support the establishment of the Southern Marine Science and Engineering Guangdong Laboratory (Guangzhou) (“the Laboratory”). The “Hong Kong Branch” of the Laboratory will be set up at HKUST to integrate the efforts of Hong Kong's marine science and technology talents to participate in regional and national programs in the Greater Bay Area,and in close collaboration with the Laboratory.
The appointee will be required to:
- Provide daily operational support to the Branch office;
- Coordinate various events/activities, for example, summits, outreach activities, workshops,meetings and exhibitions;
- Liaise closely with other departments/units and related external parties in Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area;
- Monitor the process of project administration, accounts, quotations and payment of bills;
- Draft related reports and assessments of the project;
- Provide secretarial services to committees and working groups; and
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Director or his/her delegates.
Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years’ relevant working experience. Working experience in project management, event management or operation management will be desirable. Ideal candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills. He/She should be able to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and possess a mindset for continuous improvement. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua), and good knowledge in MS Office are essential. Applicants should be meticulous and self-motivated with the ability to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines. He/She should have good working attitude, good information interpretation skills, good communication skills, troubleshooting skills and a strong sense of responsibility. The appointee may need to work outside office hours. (Duration: 1 year, renewable)
